At the 2026 International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Orlando, Fla., industry leaders from around the world showcased their newest products and the latest home design trends. And ClosetMaid’s own booth debuted a revolutionary closet system. Take a peek at what we saw and showed at IBS. Maybe you’ll be inspired to update your home.

Here are our top trends for 2026:

Warm and Bright Finishes

After years of white and gray interiors, some homeowners want to spice things up with bolder colors and natural wood.

At IBS, we noticed jewel-toned ovens with matching hoods, farmhouse sinks in unexpected shades (think emerald) and paint colors with names like Cajun Red and Narragansett Green.

Bocchi bathroom sinks

Bathroom basins by Bocchi are available in unusual shapes and colors.

These new hues will add a spark of personality to still neutral rooms.

The neutral palette might not be stark white anymore, though. Wood tones have returned to the warmer side.

Booths showed refrigerators clad in wood grain paneling, and flooring and cabinets also kept their natural look.

This kitchen display incorporated warm wood tones, a colorful backsplash and a partially arched architectural feature.

Efficient Installation

We introduced our newest closet system, FastFinish, at this year’s IBS. Described as the One-Hour Closet System, it gives builders a cost-effective, quick solution for home organization projects.

FastFinish replicates the function of traditional plank-and-pole without the multiple steps required to install it, saving contractors time and homeowners money. The system comes ready to install – no painting or caulking needed. And homeowners will love that it’s a more aesthetically pleasing product than the old plank-and-pole system.

FastFinish was designed to be fast, easy and attractive.

FastFinish is available exclusively through ClosetMaid Authorized Dealers. Interested homeowners can locate their local dealer on our website.

Dimensional Interiors

Walls and ceilings will have more character in 2026. Picture exposed beams, arched passageways, and vaulted spaces. It’s all intended to infuse rooms with more depth and architectural interest.

architectural detail trend

A triptych of framed tiles, chair rail, tiled wainscoting and built-in wood bench add dimension and mixed materials to an otherwise flat space.

Sustainable and Durable Materials

Today’s homeowners value sustainability and products that will last for years to come. They’re better for the environment and their renovation budgets – and sometimes their health, too.

Some manufacturers have developed energy-efficient technology to help lower power consumption and carbon footprint. Others are using environmentally friendly materials to create their products, whether it’s bamboo, reclaimed wood or low-emissions paint.

Did you know that ClosetMaid’s ventilated wire shelving is made of a minimum of 91 percent recycled content? It’s also Indoor Air Quality certified.

ShelfTrack hardware system

Our ShelfTrack system’s shelving – and all our wire shelves – are 100 percent recyclable, and they’re covered with a vinyl layer that extends their lifetime by preventing corrosion and discoloration.

As we enter the second half of the 2020s, we’re returning to more color, more individuality and fewer disposable products in the home design space. We’re excited for the refreshing changes and can’t wait to see how homeowners translate these trends in their own homes.
